About
Laura O' Shea is a director based in Dublin, Ireland. Most recently, she was Director of the RTÉ Storyland Drama ‘I’m Yours’, for Deadpan Pictures. Prior to that, she was the Shadow Director on Hidden Assets S2, where she also directed the Second Unit. Her IFTA-Nominated short film 'Wednesday's Child', won the Oscar-Qualifying Tiernan McBride Award for 'Best Short Drama' at the 34th Galway Film Fleadh, making her the first female director to receive the honor in over 20 years. She was also the winner of the prestigious Discovery Award at the 2023 Dublin International Film Festival. Laura's strength lies in getting the best performances from her actors and she is drawn to work that looks closely at human connection and finding the extraordinary in the ordinary. When she’s not on set, she hones her directing skills as a resident Acting Coach at Bow Street Academy of Screen Acting in Dublin. |
